What is powdery Mildew?

Powdery mildew is a fungal disease that affects many types of plants, especially marijuana plants. In many cases it may first appear as a white spec on the leaves of the plant. Since it is a fungus combined with a spore, powdery mildew can reproduce at an exponential rate, making outbreaks difficult to predict and even more difficult to manage.

Powdery mildew and the fungi/spores associated with it can almost always be detected in the air in various quantities. Ideal conditions such as high humidity and moderate temperatures (i.e. a grow room environment) can cause these airborne spores to colonize on the leaves of the plants without any warning. Because outbreaks happen to even the most disciplined growers, systemic preventative measures are needed to ensure consistently positive yields and healthy grows.

Negative effects of mold and powdery mildew

Powdery Mildew can affect photosynthesis within the marijuana plant, often reducing overall yield, and left unchecked, can eventually kill the plant(s). Even otherwise 'healthy' cannabis buds can develop mold and mildew issues in the curing stage, affecting overall quality and presenting a serious risk to end users.

The consumption of cannabis that has been infected by mold and/or powdery mildew puts the end user(s) at potential risk for illness and a wide variety of very unpleasant side effects. That is why it is essential to completely rid of this fungus on all plants before it is consumed.

The best solution

The Pathogen Death Wand is designed to completely eliminate powdery mildew at the source. It uses a patented series of non-visible wavelengths of light to destroy mold and powdery mildew right on the plant.

Unlike air filtration systems that only treat circulated air (which we feel is  beneficial in any grow room environment), the PD Wand is designed to attack and kill mold and powdery mildew on the plant itself, without affecting the terpenes or the cannabinoids.

What is powdery Mildew?

Powdery mildew is a fungal disease that marijuana plants. It produces a white spec on the leaves of the plant. Since it is a fungus, it spreads rapidly throughout the plant, and eventually can spread to its surrounding area as it is transferred via air and contact. This has the potential to quickly kill off a majority of a grow, or wreck a whole crop.

Negative effects of powdery mildew

The consumption of cannabis that has been infected by powdery mildew puts the user at potential risk for negative health consequences. That is why it is essential to completely rid of this fungus on all plants before it is consumed.

What causes powdery mildew?

The quickest way the fungus is grown is if its in a humid and dense space which happens to be the ideal, highest yield environment for a grow.

The best solution

The Pathogen Death Wand is designed to completely eliminate powdery mildew at the source. It uses a combination of light fixtures to destroy the fungus without causing harm or decrease in yield or potency of the plant. It also does not harm humans and no precautions need to be taken to handle the equipment.
